About Cara

Cara Richardson is a Texas native—born in New Mexico but raised in Texas for nearly her entire life. She grew up in San Angelo, TX, where she met her husband, and the two eventually moved to the Austin area, where they have called home for nearly seven years.

Cara initially attended Texas A&M University, earning her bachelor’s degree in Psychology. Her path to nursing was inspired by a deeply personal experience when her grandfather was diagnosed with terminal cancer. This experience sparked her desire to pursue a career in healthcare and provide compassionate care to patients and their families during some of life’s most challenging moments.

She went on to complete an accelerated nursing program at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, beginning a diverse nursing career that included progressive care, travel nursing, home health, and oncology. The majority of her nursing experience has been in oncology, where she developed a strong appreciation for caring for the whole person.

Cara earned her Master of Science in Nursing from Angelo State University in August 2025 and transitioned into her role as a Nurse Practitioner. Cara’s greatest goal is to provide holistic care by looking beyond a patient’s symptoms and considering the physical, emotional, and lifestyle factors that may contribute to their overall well-being.

Outside of work, Cara enjoys spending time with her husband, their baby boy, and their family, including her three Aussies.
